Defining Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous InsufficiencyCCSVI which is Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency is a new concept in MS or multiple sclerosis. It is a concept that was first brought up by Doctor Zamboni in Italy. We did a small study and in his small study in Italy, we found that people with MS whether they took him as medications or not had obstructed drainage of veins from the blood flow from their brain and spinal cord. And so it is a concept, which is entirely new for multiple sclerosis, and its one in which the US now has some studies under way to see if we can find if thats really related to multiple sclerosis. The hopes of CCSVI are that we might be able to find an entirely new approach to MS and potentially a way to help either relieve the symptoms or help perhaps change the course of the disease.
